Currently working as a comic colorist/artist with aspirations for character design in games and animation.
Colorist for the weekly, updated comic.
Responsibilities included handling all the “new art” orders that come in, sending proofs to clients, outputting films for t-shirt screens, conceptualizing new designs, prepping artwork to be separated for films, printing proofs for boards and films for samples for trade shows, editing and updating catalogs, etc.
Background artist for the pilot chapter of the comic. In charge of sketching and then inking the
backgrounds. Conceptualized key buildings for the background work, which were mocked up in
SketchUp. Still occasionally do work inking panels or environment concepts.
Designed cover and interior illustrations for new tabletop module issue. Researched period clothing styles and developed understanding of the module’s narrative to create appropriate illustrations for the interior of the book.
Joined as artist for startup volunteer group that surfaced due to the shutdown of NCSoft’s City of Heroes. Was promoted to Assistant to the Art Director, then Art Director January 2013. Recruited team members and streamlined workflow by identifying individuals who were experienced and willing to take on lead roles in the 2D, 3D, and sound design/music teams. Delegated tasks and ensured interdepartmental communication. Worked closely with lead in Publications to develop assets needed for marketing and public relations. Settled disputes between personnel and workshopped solutions to problems both within and outside of the Art department. Personal art contributions included:
-conceptual title treatment
-the company logo
-early concept art of the “flagship” character
-the majority of graphics and framing elements used in the Kickstarter.
Consultant and conceptual designer for small startup group looking to develop and produce video games. Tasks range from developing presentation backgrounds, character designs, and UI mockups.
